Error: "Error Querying Favorites_AK"

Issue Symptoms

Error displaying in place of widget on a page.

Error message

Error Occurred: {{widget instance ID}} : Error querying Favorites_AK: The attempted operation is prohibited because it exceeds the list view threshold enforced by the administrator. undefined

Conditions

This error is due to the list item threshold being exceeded with more than 5000 items in the Favorites_AK list.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, do the following:

1. In SharePoint, go to Favorites_AK list
2. From the gear icon (Settings) on top on the right hand side, you should be able to click on List Settings.
3. On the bottom of the columns section, you want to click on indexed columns.
4. Click on "create a new index" and select "Created By" from the drop down menu under primary column for this index, as shown in the image below, then click "Create".

5. Refresh all cache and try reloading the page.

NOTE: The effect should be immediate. If not, retry the last step in 5 minutes.
