Microsoft Update:
User Impact:
Users may have been unable to access the Microsoft 365 portal or Microsoft 365 services.
Final status:
We identified that a subset of traffic management infrastructure responsible for handling user access requests was performing below acceptable thresholds. Our automated recovery systems restarted the affected infrastructure and these actions recovered the service. Some residual impact was observed as traffic was rerouted through load-balancers responsible for maintaining healthy traffic levels; however, our telemetry indicates the service has now fully recovered.
Scope of impact:
Our investigation indicated that impact was mainly to a subset of users hosted in United States and Canada.

Root cause:
We observed a substantial increase in user requests within a portion of our traffic management infrastructure, which resulted in some intermittent access issues.
Next steps:
We're analyzing performance data and trends on the affected systems to help prevent this problem from happening again. This is the final update for the event.
